once in a blue moon...

Did you see the moon tonight? It's almost full. Even yesterday, it looked big and gorgeous as it was rising over the Eastern foothills on my drive home. šŸŒ•

This is the second full moon in the month of October (the last one being October 1st), which makes it a Blue Moon (even though it doesn't look blue). This moon is also called the Hunter Moon, as hunters would traditionally take advantage of the extra light for their hunt, which was additionally facilitated by the fact that the fields had just been reaped during the prior Harvest Moon.

Full moons happen on Halloween on average every 18 to 19 years, according to the Farmer's Almanac, but the last time a full moon was seen in all time zones on Earth on Halloween was 1944, and the next time will be 2039.

The full moon is a time of illumination - truth coming to light, hidden secrets and agendas being revealed and emerging from the shadows.

Bring Uranus into play, which happens to be retrograde at the moment, further intensifying its effect; then Mercury in retrograde until Tuesday, November 3rd (election day in the U.S.), at which point it stations direct... This promises us a few interesting and powerful days ahead. šŸ™šŸ¼

Harness your creative energies this weekend if you feel so inspired, and hold the vision for the grandest, truest, kindest and most loving version of our world. šŸ™šŸ¼šŸŒŽšŸ’›šŸ•Šā˜®ļø

Hereā€™s some interesting insight into the astrology surrounding this full moon: moonomens.com/blue-full-moon-in-taurus/.

The authorā€™s closing thoughts: ā€œIn spite of the chaos and the confusion that many of us are experiencing on the 3D plane, the current planetary configuration offers us important opportunities for healing and self-empowerment. Ultimately, the Blue Full Moon conjunct Uranus is an invitation to honor our uniqueness and our individuality, and to break free from all those limitations and conditioning patterns that are still holding us back from living our purpose."
