being where we are

You can't get where you're going without being where you are.

I’ve been pondering this sentiment a lot in regards to our current situation.

So many times in my life, I have found that the only way to move forward into the new is to first embrace what is. Whenever I become too attached to a desire that lies somewhere in the not-quite-yet-tangible future - either slightly or greatly out of reach - I seem to perpetuate the out-of-reachness of it. I've found the only way to let go of where (or what) I am and move on to the next chapter that I've been so yearning for is to first fully make my peace with where (and who) I am. Of course, ironically, once I've done that, the need to have things be any different than they are also miraculously dissolves. 🙏🏼✨

So, in this time of strife and uncertainty and many limitations to our preferred way of living, how can we make our peace with what is? How can we not only accept, but embrace where we are (and who we are in all of it), so that we may grow through it, rather than try to escape it? 🌸
